I'm looking for an affordable day spa experience in the LA or Orange County area.?

For a Christmas present to each other my best friend and I want to have a ';spa day'; at a day spa not too far from where we live. Neither of us has been to one before though, and I don't really know what the best way to go about it is. It needs to be affordable...no really expensive treatments. Does anyone have any recomendations from personal experience? Really I'm not looking for anything elaborate.I'm looking for an affordable day spa experience in the LA or Orange County area.?
Check out Yelp.com. I did a search for ';affordable day spa'; in Los Angeles, CA: http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=aff鈥?/a>

This lists businesses that people have written reviews on their experience. You'll get some idea of pricing here.

BUT FIRST: what do you mean by ';spa day'; if you've never been to one? Spa treatments can be: manicure, pedicure, facial, waxing, massage, aromatherapy, sauna, hot tub, exfoliating scrub, body wrap, or any combination of these.

Check out About.com for more info to help you decide:

Affordable? A one hour massage can cost from $40 to $120, depending on the therapist and the place. A manicure can cost from $12 to $60, depending on where you do this. A facial can cost from $40 to $170 for about an hour.

After deciding what types of services you'd like to try out, call the places that sound good, and ask what their prices are.

Then make your decision on where to go, and your appointments.
