Need a nice and affordable day spa in LA
I will be in LA in a little over a month. I'm visiting with a group of my girlfriends and we want to indulge in a spa day. Our hotel is downtown, but we don't want to pay downtown prices. We may want mani's, pedi's, facials and massages.Need a nice and affordable day spa in LA

Well I think you guys should take a weekend trip and go to Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona. It is in Riverside County but the bonus is that the Hot Springs is like 30 minutes away from Temecula and you could go wine tasting the day before or the day after your spa day.
Glen Ivy Hot Springs has been used by Southern California residents for over 150 years. They have full services available, manicures, massages, facials, everything.
Plus they have mineral baths, pools, sauna's, mud bath, and a grotto.
I know you didn't want to spend much money but the admission price is reasonable and that is for the whole day. Then you pay for services as an an extra price. You can even rent a private cabana if everything is cheaper than what you were originally planning on spending.
They have specials all the time so check out the web site.
I've been there and love it.

I can't remember the name of the spa but I know where it is located. Get a taxi to take you to the Best Western Phuket Ocean Resort ( 562 Patak Road, Karon Beach, Phuket 83100). Once you get out of the taxi, stand facing the ocean then walk to your left down the sidewalk. You'll pass a restaurant and the next business is the spa. We enjoyed a 2 1/2 hour package for around $25 USD!!! It was simply incredible. There are more packages if you want to do a day of it...but regardless, you'll be VERY very happy!!

How to do an at home day spa?

me and my 2 friends want to do an at home day spa,pampering thing today
were only 14 so money is a tiny bit of an issue
but any suggestions on what we should do?

You can go in the bathroom and turn the shower on really hot, this makes steam go in the room, like the rooms in the spas. [makes your skin moist so blackheads and filth comes out]
You can also take home rudiments to make face masks. I would recommend either making a honey mask (1 tbsp honey, 1 raw egg, milk) or a fruit mask (Crushed strawberries, 1 tbsp honey, 1/2 smashed banana and maybe some lemon juice) this makes your skin nice and soft. =]
You can also try making your own unique face mask. I recommend using things like milk, olive oil, cucumber, honey, rosemary water, oatmeal, etc.
You can also put cucumbers or frozen tea bags on your eyes, which makes dark circles go away.
Maybe soak towels with hot water and put it on your feet.
Washing your hair with tea makes it brighter and shinier, too.

No, I would not. Because I do not believe that day spas would provide the child care expertise for smaller children. It's quite expensive to train a staff in emergencies, child appropriate games, proper cleaning of toys, etc. Would you want to deal with someone calling in sick and no backup? Backup is also expensive to provide. Do you want to risk being sued if another child accidentally opens a candy bar with peanuts in front of another child who's allergic to peanuts? Do you want responsibility for acquiring a large amount of toys appropriate for a lot of ages?
It might be cheaper/easier for a day spa to contact a local day care and sub-contract the day care to them. That way the legal liability falls on the day care and not the spa.
Turn the question around and ask: Would you be more likely to select a day care based on whether they also offered back massages?

You should just take a nice long bubble bath and use a store bought or homeade face mask. Also get plenty of sleep.

Mix warm water and sugar so it makes a paste. spread it over forehead, T-zone, chin, and cheeks. This will help unclog pores and the granules will remove dead, and dry skin. After a few minutes rinse with cool water. The cool water helps close pores, make them appear smaller, and reduce oil. Moisturize as normal.
Try exercising a little this day also, this may not sound relaxing but it can actually make you feel more content, sleep better, and make you healthier. That's better than any facial can do. The local library will have a variety of exercise videos that you might like. I especially like ';yoga for wimps'; and ';Romania's Pilates.'; Yoga and Pilates are great for relaxation. Beginner tapes are my favorite. Easy moves, maximum effect.
Yes! Hire in a masseus and a nail tech. Go through a training center (such a sa tech school or community college) for an inexpensive rate. Get lunch catered, lavendar must fill the air, soft music (Enya and nature sounds are relaxing), warm towels anothe MUST!

For christmas my fiance got me a giftcard to the spa. I'm going to have a spa day, but I don't really know what treatments to get. They have massages, facials, body wraps, waxings, nails. Does anyone have any advice on what treatments I should get? What is your favorite spa treatment? for the aformentioned hand treatment....it feels really great and i just learned this at esthetics school (yup, spa professional)
get some slippery lotion or some massage oil and rub hands, fingers, and arm of your friend. just do one arm at a time, and do it on a level table where YOU control their arms, and they can just relax it and possibly talk to you or just take it in. rub the hand, the fingers, bend the wrist forward and backwards with JUST ENOUGH pressure to stretch it out, not to hurt, and rub the arm all the way up to the elbow. then use a fine scrub (you can buy these at spas) or possibly use the coffee ground scrub that was in the site above..and then wrap the arm in saran wrap (scrub and all). then wrap a damp, warm towel around the arm where the plastic is. repeat on other arm. then take damp towel off, and take plastic wrap off arm, using towel, take off the granules of scrub and oil/lotion. then rub a cream into the arm and hands. repeat on other arm.
it's really relaxing, and only takes about 15 minutes if done right.

in whichever room you're doing it, drape a bright coloured curtain over it to create a relaxing glow...(i reccomend pink) play some soothing classical music and light lots of candles (vanilla is great!) dont bother with nail polish because any mess-ups will just stress you out but treat yourself to a foot and hand scrub or mask and creme. also buy a nice face mask... at cvs or any other drug store you could get a great avocado one for all skin types.
take a bubble bath and in it put a capfull of baby oil or sweet almond oil, add a vanilla (or favourite scent) bath bomb (chocolate scent is great too!)
have everything planned out for when you get out of the tub. make sure the bathroom is perfectly cleaned and your towel is out along with a warm bath robe and slippers. make yourself some tea or hot water to sip throughout your bath... if it spills, no worries! herbal teas are great for the skin. maybe put out some chocolates for yourself as well.
spa days are my favourite but i hate when things arn't ready or organised, its so stressful and although it seems like nothing, it can really ruin the whole thing to have to run around looking for a towel or product or something, so just make sure you're ready before you start

My husband bought me a day at the spa and it has a sixty-minute massage, sixty minute facial, lunch, and a mani/pedi. I have had the mani/pedi before I've just never had the facial or the massage. Homemade Face Masques:
* MAYONNAISE. Apply whole egg mayonnaise on your face (right from the jar) for about 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water. Great skin care treatment.
* PEACH %26amp; BRANDY. Mash up a peach (use ripe, canned or frozen) and mix in a tablespoon of brandy. Leave it on for 20 minutes, then rinse off.
* TOMATO MASK. For oily skin, mash up a ripe tomato and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm (not hot) water.
* BANANA MASH. Mash up a very ripe banana. Add just enough honey to make a soft pulp. Apply over face and hair.
* HONEY MASK. Apply pure honey (straight from the bottle) to your face and neck. Allow it to set until dry (about 15 minutes). Rinse with very warm water.
* MILK OF MAGNESIA. Apply it straight from the bottle. Let it dry for about five to ten minutes. Rinse off with warm water, then gently pat your face dry with a fluffy towel.
* PEPTO BISMOL. This is a face mask particularly suited for those with sensitive skin. In the same way that this product coats the stomach, it gently caresses the face. Apply it straight from the bottle, using a cotton swab. Allow to dry, then rinse with cool water.
*FOR OILY OR ACNE PRONE SKIN: 1 medium size apple, grated fine combined with 5 tbs. honey
*CARROT: 2-3 large carrots and 4 1/2 tablespoons honey
Directions: Cook carrots, then mash. Mix with honey. Apply gently to the skin, wait 10 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.
*TROPICAL CITRUS MASK: If you want to avoid lots of clean up, before applying this mask cover your face with cheesecloth (with holes cut out for eyes and mouth). Mix together: 1 ripe banana, 1 tsp. Olive oil, 1 drop Orange essential oil. Smooth over face and leave on for 15 - 20 minutes. Rinse off with tepid water. Smooth on a rich moisturizer.
Hair Mask:
*FOR SHINE: Lightly beat two eggs mixed with some milk and run throughout your hair. Leave on for 5 minutes, rinse and you'll see a shine instantly.
*MAYAN HAIR MASK: Ancient Mayan Inca and Aztec women believed that avocados fed the skin from the inside and outside. Make sure you save the avocado pit, setting it in a place where it can dry out. Mix together: 陆 ripe avocado, 1 tbsp. olive oil, 陆 small banana and 1 egg yolk. Gently massage onto hair and scalp and cover with a shower cap. Leave on 1 hour and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Shampoo as usual.
Bath Additives:
*MOOD ENHANCER: Add 1/4 cup of pure vanilla extract to a warm bath. Vanilla has the ability to lift spirits and revive.
*MOOD ENHANCER: Take a handful of pine needles and place them in the foot of old panty hose. Knot around the faucet and let the pine hydrate under running bath water.
*SOFTER SKIN: Take an old sock, fill it with Oatmeal (Quakers is good) and drop into you bath. Immediately softens skin!
Eye Brightener:
*UNDER EYE CIRCLES: To lighten dark circles under your eyes, wrap a grated raw potato in cheesecloth and apply to eyelids for 15-20 minutes. Wipe off the residue and apply an eye cream.
Lips
* HONEY ORANGE LIP BALM: If you like your lip balm to have a thinner, glossier consistency, use more olive oil. If you like a thicker, creamier feel, use less. Heat 2 tbsp. Chopped beeswax in a double boiler until melted. Remove from heat. Slowly pour (up to you) cup olive oil into beeswax and stir to mix. Add 1 陆 tbsp. honey and 5 drops Orange essential oil. Stir continuously to mix until cool. Pour into a clean container with a lid. Tightly seal.
Feet
*BEAUTIFUL FEET: If you take 1 cup Lemon Juice, Cinnamon (for smell), 2 tablespoons (or less) olive oil, 1/4 cup of milk, and water you can make a wash that leaves skin refreshed and fragrant (the amount of water does not matter). If you do not like the cinnamon smell you can replace it with another spice, perfume, or flower petals such as roses. After you make it, you can put it in a tub were you can soak your feet or body. Next dry your feet or rinse them with water and a MILD soap.Tomorrow I have the day to relax and want to have some homemade spa treatments.?

* HONEY MASK. Apply pure honey (straight from the bottle) to your face and neck. Allow it to set until dry (about 15 minutes). Rinse with very warm water.
* MILK OF MAGNESIA. Apply it straight from the bottle. Let it dry for about five to ten minutes. Rinse off with warm water, then gently pat your face dry with a fluffy towel.
* PEPTO BISMOL. This is a face mask particularly suited for those with sensitive skin. In the same way that this product coats the stomach, it gently caresses the face. Apply it straight from the bottle, using a cotton swab. Allow to dry, then rinse with cool water.
*FOR OILY OR ACNE PRONE SKIN: 1 medium size apple, grated fine combined with 5 tbs. honey
*CARROT: 2-3 large carrots and 4 1/2 tablespoons honey
Directions: Cook carrots, then mash. Mix with honey. Apply gently to the skin, wait 10 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.
*TROPICAL CITRUS MASK: If you want to avoid lots of clean up, before applying this mask cover your face with cheesecloth (with holes cut out for eyes and mouth). Mix together: 1 ripe banana, 1 tsp. Olive oil, 1 drop Orange essential oil. Smooth over face and leave on for 15 - 20 minutes. Rinse off with tepid water. Smooth on a rich moisturizer.
Hair Mask:
*FOR SHINE: Lightly beat two eggs mixed with some milk and run throughout your hair. Leave on for 5 minutes, rinse and you'll see a shine instantly.
*MAYAN HAIR MASK: Ancient Mayan Inca and Aztec women believed that avocados fed the skin from the inside and outside. Make sure you save the avocado pit, setting it in a place where it can dry out. Mix together: 陆 ripe avocado, 1 tbsp. olive oil, 陆 small banana and 1 egg yolk. Gently massage onto hair and scalp and cover with a shower cap. Leave on 1 hour and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Shampoo as usual.
Bath Additives:
*MOOD ENHANCER: Add 1/4 cup of pure vanilla extract to a warm bath. Vanilla has the ability to lift spirits and revive.
*MOOD ENHANCER: Take a handful of pine needles and place them in the foot of old panty hose. Knot around the faucet and let the pine hydrate under running bath water.
*SOFTER SKIN: Take an old sock, fill it with Oatmeal (Quakers is good) and drop into you bath. Immediately softens skin!
Eye Brightener:
*UNDER EYE CIRCLES: To lighten dark circles under your eyes, wrap a grated raw potato in cheesecloth and apply to eyelids for 15-20 minutes. Wipe off the residue and apply an eye cream.
Lips
* HONEY ORANGE LIP BALM: If you like your lip balm to have a thinner, glossier consistency, use more olive oil. If you like a thicker, creamier feel, use less. Heat 2 tbsp. Chopped beeswax in a double boiler until melted. Remove from heat. Slowly pour (up to you) cup olive oil into beeswax and stir to mix. Add 1 陆 tbsp. honey and 5 drops Orange essential oil. Stir continuously to mix until cool. Pour into a clean container with a lid. Tightly seal.
Feet
*BEAUTIFUL FEET: If you take 1 cup Lemon Juice, Cinnamon (for smell), 2 tablespoons (or less) olive oil, 1/4 cup of milk, and water you can make a wash that leaves skin refreshed and fragrant (the amount of water does not matter). If you do not like the cinnamon smell you can replace it with another spice, perfume, or flower petals such as roses. After you make it, you can put it in a tub were you can soak your feet or body. I know that the hotel Europ盲ischer Hof in Heidelberg offers Day Spa service to people regardless whether they are staying at the hotel or not. It is quite well known in the area.
The Maritim Hotel in Mannheim on the other hand has only minor Spa facilties, and I think you have to book a room for the weekend in order to be able to use them.
Apart from that, you could check the websites of all regional spa towns (Bad Langenbr眉cken, Bad Mingolsheim, Bad Sch枚nborn, Bad Rappenau, Bad Wimpfen) and see if they also offer day spa services.
I guess you see the pattern here - basically look at the map, and whatever town you see beginning with ';Bad';, there's a spa (or used to be one).
Of course, the day spa at the Europ盲ischer Hof would have the advantage that you'll share it with other day spa enthusiasts only - while the ';real'; spas offer the usual mix of geriatric, sick %26amp; diseased people :-)Day spa in or around Mannheim, Germany?

I love the German spas - I lived in Germany and went to several - very relaxing and pleasant - and refreshingly not uptight as they would be in the US.
I looked online and found your best bet - it at least looks really cool.
It is run by the city of Mannheim - the Herschelbad.
It has an Art Noveau swimming pool, roman/irish steam bath, sauna, a warm air room, warm bath, cold bath and table shower - and state licensed massage therapists.
From October to the end of April, you can use the pool and sauna area together - nude - from 10 am to 5 pm. At other times, the sauna area is separate from the pool - and you have to wear a bathing suit to swim.
It looks pretty cool.

im not from there im from NY but in my opinion, anywhere should be a good place to open one of those because there are ALWAYS women everywhere that need to be pampered once in a while. I think the KEY to having a sucessful one of those is to keep the prices low and keep the spirits high so people want to go there and feel good about it, and dont feel like theyre walking into a place where they spend all their money for little results and feel like they are being judged by an obnoxious staff..

I'm looking for relaxing spa music that has more like noises than actual music. I'm looking for the sound of soft rain, water drops, slow low wind chimes, maybe some soft zen-type environmental type music, or trickling water....something really meditative, relaxing; something that inspires stillness and peace. I've listened to a bunch of stuff on amazon, but it has all been too loud or fast for me, it wouldn't sound right in the tiny tucked away corner I need the noise for. 1. Pick a good day that no one is going to be home. A day that you are free all day.
2. Sleep in. Wake up in and have a yogurt and some fruit for breakfast...something light. Stay in your pajamas.
3. First is the mask. Sit in a reclining chair and play some of your favorite music. Apply a mud mask and some cucumbers to your eyes. Make sure your hair is pulled back with a headband.
4. Now its bathtime. Draw a warm bubble bath. Light some lavender scented candles for a relaxed atmoshpere. Since you have candles turn off the lights. Soothe in the bath for 30 minutes to an hour.
5. When you get out lather your entire body with some lavender scented or aloe lotion to sooth and moisturize you skin.
6. Have some lunch, a sandwich or soup.
7. Sit down on the couch and read a book for about 30 minutes to an hour and just relax. I recommend the a book by Luanne Rice.
8. Give yourself a manicure and a pedicure to make you look gorgeous.
9. Do some yoga to find your inner peace and clear your mind. Do for about 15 minutes to an hour.
10. Do some breathing excersises or meditation to calm your soul. Do for 15 minutes to an hour.
11. Sit down make some popcorn and watch a chick flick movie. I recommend Just Like Heaven, The Lakehouse, The Notebook, When Harry Met Sally, The Prince and Me, Before Sunrise, or Dirty Dancing.
12. Put on some jams and dance around the house in your underwear. Dance anywhere between 15 minutes to and hour.
13. Take another bath.
14. When your husband comes home, have him cook dinner, and give you a massage.
15. Go to bed by 10.

Just take a little handful and GENTLY! scrub whatever area needs a little attention - soften your hands, elbows, crusty knees, your heels... I especially like to sit in the tub and exfoliate before shaving. Leave the oil on your legs to shave (you'll just have to rinse the razor frequently to get the sugar crystals out of your way) - you have never been so smooth in your life! Don't wash the oil off with soap, just rinse with water. That way the oil (which will sink into your skin in a few minutes) continues to keep your skin soft and silky. Just be VERY careful getting out of the shower or tub, as it will be slippery!

Heres the some of the stuff we do....

Well insted of using a face mask we use shuger and water.
( mix the two of them)
Then we use tea bags on our eyes Insted of q-cumbers
(anyone of them works)
(get the tea bags wet befor putting over eyes)
We soak or feet in warm salt water....
(put hot water into the tub , or anything, and put like 1/2 a cup of salt into it)
then we painted our nails, did our hair and makeup, took pictures, and went to show off our new look!!!
have funn.. and its always better with friends!!
first, grind up some almonds (you can also put them in a ziplock and pound on them with a meat cleaver thing. it's fun). mix the powder with a little water, and work gently over face for a scrub. rinse!
then, seperate an egg yolk and egg white.
use the egg white, and mix a little lemon/lime juice with it. use it as a mask...leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse off. use either cucumber slices or cooled tea bags (chamomile is great!) to reduce puffy eyes, and make them sparkle!
use the egg yolk, by adding some olive oil and heating it in the microwave for 3 SECONDS ONLY! if any longer, the egg will actually cook. apply to damp hair and put in a shower cap...leave in for 15 minutes...good to do while using mask. rinse THROUGHLY and shampoo after.
then, cut a cucumber slice in half and swipe over face as a refreshing toner. follow with you're usual moisturizer.
for hands.
first, soak them in lemon juice (make sure you don't have cuts) this will whiten fingernails and make them strong.
cut/file/buff them afterwards.
then, pour some sugar on your hands (over the sink!) and rub it all over...rinse it off. then, rub hands with olive oil and stick in plastic bags and wrap in hot towels...wait for 7 minutes and rinse off..they will be SMOOTH!!
polish them with either clear polish, or another color. (sheer is always good, but red/orange/black/purple is in now)
okay, now rub salt mixed with olive oil over your feet...rinse off. soak them in a mixture of water, orange juice, and pineapple/papaya chunks..the fruit acid eats away dead cells.
then, do the same thing (olive oil, ziplock thingie) with your feet...
YAY! you're done!
you can also use the salt foot rub as a body scrub too!
get friends together, make masks, do mani-pedis, buy those foot scrubs , exfolioate, eat chocolate covered strawberries!!

However, if the bride planned her own at-home reception, then she should be setting up and doing the work.
If you're hosting the party, but feel overwhelmed, then ask the bride for help. But, don't assume she's being rude on purpose. You can't get help, unless you ask.

so far this is what i have;
-washing%26amp;styling our hair
-facial mask(i have a recipe thing)
-self tanner
-pedicure
were going to be watching our fav movie while doing it so i want it to last almost as long as the movie. i was looking for a few more things. we don't really want to do manicures and we might do makeup. any ideas?Any ideas for an at home spa day?

Face Treatment:
Put a hot wash cloth to open pores.
Expholiate with baking soda.
Facial Time!
Buy those little singe-use facial packets at target or make your own. Whatever works :) If you want to make your own try any of these ingredients:
Plain, Cooked Oatmeal
Eggs
Tomato
Bannana
Combine or whatever! My favorite home facial is shredded coconut, water and a squirt of lemon. Try it! You wont be dissapointed!
Then, rise and wash your face and put on a little lotion.
Wait 15 mins.
Hair:
Lather condtioner mized with a few drops of olive oil. in dry hair, Wrap in a towel. Then, wash and condition like normal, if you need o wash it twice.
Blow eachothers hair out. Blow dry with a round brush. You can find many instructions on this online. It's called a Blow Out.
Hands/Feet
At the dollar store you can find cheap, but still good tools for manipedi. Just don't use the polish. And be sure to clean with rubbing achohol even if it was in a sealed package before use.

Buffer Block, ( Mine has 8 sides, it was a dollar.)

Clear Nail Polish

Warm Soapy Water
Towels
Oil
Remove any old polish. Soak hands/feet for 10 mins. Buff using the sids. Be careful. Push back cuicles and add oil to nail beds. wash Hands. Paint :)
Lips, Eyes, Etc.
Mix vasaline and sugar together and rub on lips. Then brush them with an old tooth brush in warm water. Add some good chap stick next. :)
Put metal spoons dipped in ice water over your eyes. Refreshing!
Give massages!
Body:
Shower, just to make sure your clean, before the spa day btw. Shave and stuff/
Soak in a tub for 15 mins . Try adding something like:
Milk
Bath Salt
Bubble BathBath Fizzies
Etc:
Use a body scrub in the shower. You can make an easy one by combing any of these things. Just add liquid slowly, a little bit at a time, so it doenst get runny!
Brown Sugar
White Sugar
Oil
Milk
Lemmon Juice (just a splash)
Aply Lotion!
Other Tips:
Wear old, comfy swiim suites of soffes and a tank.
Have fresh toweelsand robes! Warm from the dryer is amazing!
Make sure you have a cleanroom and set everything up the night before.
Play calming Music.
Read Magazines!

Manicure and massages (not in a sensual way, just rub each other's backs). My friend and I always do home spas, we usually soak our feet in a big tub of warm water, rub olive oil on them, then use nail polish remover on the nails (to get the oil residue off), and paint, lastly, we apply a thick lotion and put on thick socks so it'll absorb. For face masks I seriously recommend using just an egg yolk until it's tight, washing it off, then using the white. It feels so nice. First thing, though, before treating your face, put a hot but wrung out wash cloth on to open and clean your pores. Good luck!cartridge

Combine or whatever! My favorite home facial is shredded coconut, water and a squirt of lemon. Try it! You wont be dissapointed!
Then, rise and wash your face and put on a little lotion.
Wait 15 mins.
Hair:
Lather condtioner mized with a few drops of olive oil. in dry hair, Wrap in a towel. Then, wash and condition like normal, if you need o wash it twice.
Blow eachothers hair out. Blow dry with a round brush. You can find many instructions on this online. It's called a Blow Out.
Hands/Feet
At the dollar store you can find cheap, but still good tools for manipedi. Just don't use the polish. And be sure to clean with rubbing achohol even if it was in a sealed package before use.
You'll Need:
Cuticile Pusher
File
Buffer Block, ( Mine has 8 sides, it was a dollar.)

Clear Nail Polish
A Color
Warm Soapy Water
Towels
Oil
Remove any old polish. Soak hands/feet for 10 mins. Buff using the sids. Be careful. Push back cuicles and add oil to nail beds. wash Hands. Paint :)
Lips, Eyes, Etc.
Mix vasaline and sugar together and rub on lips. Then brush them with an old tooth brush in warm water. Add some good chap stick next. :)
Put metal spoons dipped in ice water over your eyes. Refreshing!
Give massages!
Body:
Shower, just to make sure your clean, before the spa day btw. Shave and stuff/
Soak in a tub for 15 mins . Try adding something like:
Milk
Bath Salt
Bubble BathBath Fizzies
Etc:
Use a body scrub in the shower. You can make an easy one by combing any of these things. Just add liquid slowly, a little bit at a time, so it doenst get runny!
Brown Sugar
White Sugar
Oil
Milk
Lemmon Juice (just a splash)
Aply Lotion!
Other Tips:
Wear old, comfy swiim suites of soffes and a tank.
Have fresh toweelsand robes! Warm from the dryer is amazing!
Make sure you have a cleanroom and set everything up the night before.
Play calming Music.
Read Magazines!

Manicure and massages (not in a sensual way, just rub each other's backs). My friend and I always do home spas, we usually soak our feet in a big tub of warm water, rub olive oil on them, then use nail polish remover on the nails (to get the oil residue off), and paint, lastly, we apply a thick lotion and put on thick socks so it'll absorb. For face masks I seriously recommend using just an egg yolk until it's tight, washing it off, then using the white. It feels so nice. First thing, though, before treating your face, put a hot but wrung out wash cloth on to open and clean your pores. Good luck!

My friend and I are planning on getting our hair%26amp;make-up done at Latouff for our year 12 formal, and we're looking at around $175(hair%26amp;makeup) for each person. For a home-spa-type-day:
Start with the normal home-made mask. You can you many things you might normally have in the kitchen, such as brown sugar, honey, oatmeal, avocado, egg whites, bananas etc..(If you are going to use other things from the kitchen, search the internet for them to make sure they wont do anything wierd to your face, chances are someone else has tried it and wrote a blog about it). And you can use a combo of two or three of any of those. Mush the ingredients in a bowl and apply.
Allow to set for 15-30 minutes, then wash off.
Give eachother back and feet massages of course! (Dont use anything really oily until you are planning to shower afterwards)
Do eachothers makeup.
Do eachothers hair.
Paint eachothers nails.
These should keep you guys occupied for a few hours.
Then, sit around and talk and watch movies or something for the rest of the day and relax.

No, the therapist are rude, and smelly. One smells like cigarettes and she tried to teach me about health. I thought massage was for muscles, not for bones, this lady raked her elbow back and forth over my spine with no remorse, and then she had the nerve to hover area the receptionist area for a tip and was a little upset that I only gave her 10 dollars. She said, ';A ten? Was I not any good? I usually get a 20$'; I just looked at her speechless, so I gave her another 10$ and I left. Needless to say, I will never come back. That's just my experience, yours could be different.

I have worked in the spa business for over 7 years so I see tons of spa days. Most spas have packages that include several treatments and they are usually a little cheaper than paying for each service individually. The packages usually vary but the ones i usually see are:

-massage + facial + manicure + pedicure
-Body scrub + massage
-body wrap + massage

Put them in the blender and press whip.
Then use your hands to apply the mask on your hair.

I have worked in the spa business for over 7 years so I see tons of spa days. Most spas have packages that include several treatments and they are usually a little cheaper than paying for each service individually. The packages usually vary but the ones i usually see are:
-massage + facial
-facial + manicure + pedicure
-Massage + manicure + pedicure
-massage + facial + manicure + pedicure
-Body scrub + massage
-body wrap + massage
oh spa day!!!
i love those days! i wish they were every day! haha!lol
well get like face mask for everybody.
nail polish, nail base coat, and nail top coat, nail file, nail trimmer, etc etc (Manicure)
Pedicure stuff too!
lots of good smelling lotion! (my recommendation: Tahiti, Sweetie from bath and body works!)
fruit and veggies (it tastes good, its healthy and you can use the cucumbers for eyes! lol)
if you want to do a real spa day! head to your nearest spa! go get a massage and facial with some of your BFFs!

I like the idea of a coupon for you helping around the house, she will LOVE that, especially for when she's not feeling well, or just tired and not having a good day. Maybe washing dishes, folding laundry, make a coupon book with different things in there, vacuum, fold laundry, wash dishes, unload the dishwasher, do laundry if you know how, etc.

Sponges or loofahs
Hand cream, body lotions, etc
Maybe even a book she's been wanting or a CD of her favorite singer or DVD of her favorite movie, so she can sit back and relax with it.

That depends on the area you live in. If you do not know the going rate of services in your area, perhaps this is not the business for you. That isn't meant to be insulting - your business should be something you have a great interest in and can do better than the competition. If you don't know what that competition is you won't be starting out well.
Location is important - cost for that depends on your area also. Clientele - you need a following. There has to be something that makes you more desirable than the other spas. What is that?
I go to a 10 station salon with one Facial room - it is a wonderfully relaxing facial for $65 for 90 min. Someone gave me a gift facial at a different salon - the room was located by the break room so I got to listen to all the stylists talking and joking (that was about $50 for 45min.) My daughter gets cut and color for $100 plus tip - my friend in the next state pays $225 for the same thing. Day spas around here are adding laser hair removal and skin treatments etc. Big bucks for the equipment. So check around for the menu of services at the spas in your area - and take it from there. Just how busy are they? Is there a need for one more spa?I need some advice on opening up a day spa.?
