Me and a couple of my girlfriends are having a home spa-day in a few days, and I was just wondering what types of things would be fun to do there?
I know the obvious, mani-petis, makeovers, and all that stuff, but what other kinds of things are there?
I know facials are good, but I've got no clue which to buy or how to make em or whatever.

I egg white and 1tsp lemon juice %26amp; 1 tsp rosewater.
Mix together and slap on it your face.

How do i create a spa day for myself at home?
you need to get your favorites really!!!
favorite:
scented candles
bath gels
flowers
lotions
towels
face masks
body scrubs
candies or snack foods
relaxing music(your choice themed or what works for you)
a good book(your favorite or other)
some movies
once you get everything create an area be it your room or the whole house and put your music on with your scented items and flowers around. Make your bed up with your favorite sheets or put a fab throw on the couch to lay under if that's where you are. Watch your favorite movies or read some books. Prepare everything a day or so inadvance so when you have your spa day there's not much you'll have to do. If you want to extend it to dinner cook your meal earlier in the day or the day before, that is if you dont mind cooking once your spa day has already begun. Sit back and relax!! Turn off your phone and ignore the doorbell!!

My boyfriend is giving me a day at a spa for my birthday. They only want to be tipped in cash. The total for the day is almost $600.00. I am only going because it is a gift. I can't afford to go otherwise.

If that is not the case then simply give one tip to the person who checks you in and instruct that person to divide it amongs those who will be providing services to you that day. They are not new to this and know that you are there to relax, not to play banker. A percentage of the whole amount would be sufficient, I would say no less than $50.00. Then, collect it from your boyfriend, in trade, after you are all fresh and sweet smelling.

Some of them are bound to get wise to you...lol. Honestly, I don't know that you would have to tip all of them. I am a massage therapist, also, and I can tell you that not everyone tips and that's okay. Appreciated when it happens, yes, but I did not expect it. Have fun and by all means RELAX or you will undo all of their hard work.
Usually there is a basket in each room for you to leave the tip. I dont know how much you have but if you have $25 to your name give each person five dollars... or depending on how they did use your judgement... if they deserve a dollar give them a dollar they usually walk out of the room so if you are worried about bwing embarrased you shouldnt be. Plus everyone knows the economy is bad right now...Times are ROUGH!
at the front desk you can give the money to the receptionist and tell her how much you want her to give each person or you can just give it individually to each person after they've completed their service.
Depending on how Good they are to you. I would take between 60.00 and 100.00 bucks and tip those that were exceptionally good. As for the BOYFRIEND? Give that Boy a hug like he`s never had before.
I think that cash is the preferred method. I tried to use hot wings to tip a doorman, once. He didn't appreciate it very much....

Well, unfortunately, I can't recommend one but a GC for a day spa visit is a great idea (I think)! I've been dropping hints on various holidays for a while for just that.... The next step, especially if you have kids, is to make sure that she has the time to go, guilt free!!!Is giving my wife a visit to a day spa a good xmas present or no?
